We are over the moon to have been shortlisted as Finalists at the prestigious Medway Business Awards 2016. In what’s been an already fantastic year for us at John Planck, celebrating our 25th anniversary as a local, independent business, we are delighted to have been recognised for these highly-coveted awards.
Tom Planck, Managing Director says “Not only are the Medway Business Awards a brilliant opportunity to network and get to know our fellow Kent entrepreneurs, they also generate a huge amount of profile and publicity for our business. Awards like these are invaluable in raising the profile of small businesses and recognising the incredible amount of talent and skills we have in the Medway area.”
Finalists will now be interviewed by the Judging Panel with winners announced at a lavish gala evening on 18 November at Priestfield Stadium, Gillingham.
The Medway business community has grown phenomenally since these awards were launched 32 years ago. They were aimed at giving the area back some of the self-esteem lost at the closure of the naval dockyard and other manufacturing industries.
Today the awards are a celebration of what regeneration means. Medway now has a magnificent university campus in partnership with four universities of which three are sponsors for these awards. Additionally there is a proactive vocational college delivering much needed skills to the area. The business parks are thriving. Diversity and new technologies abound. Many of the small companies trade in the global market.
One of the award sponsors, Handelsbanken said “We are delighted to sponsor the Medway Business Awards and play our small part in highlighting and supporting some of the amazing and diverse businesses operating across the Medway area.”
