There is no better place than London when the sun is shining and summer is finally on the horizon. As June brightens the city up, we’re excited to see the start of ‘The London Festival of Architecture’ as it celebrates architectural diversity across the city. The theme for this year’s festival is ‘identity’ and we can’t wait to see how this topical subject is explored through the language of architecture.
One event we are particularly interested in being present at is, ‘The Entrance to Identity’ which is a breakfast hosted by Poliform UK with the ‘world leader of doors’, Lualdi Porte. Owner, Marco Lualdi, will discuss the critical role of door design in commercial architecture in shaping the identity of interior projects.
And what better way to celebrate architecture and London in summer than through the festivals showcased series of one-off public benches designed by up-and-coming designers and architects. We hope that perhaps next year a reflection on architectural hardware and the opportunities of the modern age might be a theme the festival could explore. London provides so many wonderful opportunities to see examples of both modern and traditional quality ironmongery.
In the meantime, we invite architects, specifiers and developers to explore their ideas with us and together let’s work to create quality architectural hardware that leaves a legacy for all to enjoy for many years and many architectural festivals to come.
